When setting up your first business, there is a lot to learn and a lot to do. This workshop provides the founder-or those supporting founders-with the knowledge and roadmap to know how to go about setting up the fundamentals for their business (everything from registering their business to setting up a business bank account) and where to seek finance to support an early stage business.

Course Content:

• The different types of company

• Choosing a company name

• How to setup and register a company

• Banking, Insurance, HR, Accounting and VAT

• Setting up a website and email

• Social media presence

• Sources of finance for early stage businesses

Format:

One 3 hour workshop sessions, with expert Q&A. Attendees are required to complete a questionnaire prior to the session which will inform content delivered.

Workshop Leader Biography:

John Cooke is an experienced entrepreneur and start-up specialist having worked directly with over 150 founders of early-stage businesses in the last 5 years – delivering 121 coaching, workshops and consultancy. Prior to this John headed up Business Development for Vistage (the World’s largest CEO coaching organisation). Before Vistage, John setup and ran his own software business in the UK and USA (raised over £1mill in investment, sold skills management solutions to enterprise clients direct and through partners, including IBM) before selling the business to a US company. John started his career at IBM and spent 8 years at Microsoft.
